Librela / Solenisa introduction
What is Librela and how does it work?
Librela is an innovative therapy called a Monoclonal Antibody. It is a biological therapy that works like your dog's own immune system. It targets and neutralises a protein that stimulates pain in patients with arthritis.
Through this action, one Librela injection alleviates pain for a full month in addition to the benefit of a positive safety profile.
What can I expect from my dog's treatment with Librela?
- Increased mobility and decreased level of pain
- Positive effect in your dog's quality of life
- Reassurance that your dog is getting lasting pain relief for a full month - no need for daily medication
- Librela can be used with other common therapies, eg vaccines, flea and tick products, antibiotics)
How is ongoing treatment managed / administered?
Librela injections are required every month in order to maintain the levels of pain relief for your dog. {{patients}} will need to be assessed by a veterinary surgeon at least every 6 months, but if there are no problems or concerns, then interim injections can be administered by a nurse.
Appointments with a veterinary surgeon will incur a consultation fee, while there is no fee when the injections are administered by a nurse.
We'll send you reminders if injections are overdue.
