PetsApp Default Messages

PetsApp will send different messages to your clients depending on the context. Below are all of the different examples of what message sends when and how you can adapt them to your needs.


The Welcome Message 

Whenever a client starts a new message with a clinic through the app or PetsApp Web, they will receive your welcome message. 

You can change this welcome message for each clinic by visiting the Settings page and selecting the clinic.

Welcome to {{clinicName}}.

If {{petName}} needs urgent medical care, please call us on {{insert clinic number}}.

We aim to respond to your chat within a few hours during our opening times.

How can we help you and {{petName}} today?


PetsApp Invites

When PetsApp sends invites to your pet owners, they will receive this message. To change this, please email your customer success manager, or support@petsapp.com

Hi, we’d love you and {{petName}} to join us on PetsApp. It’s a free app that you can use to book appointments with us, order food and medication, or ask questions. You can even have a chat with one of our vets or nurses. Get the app here: {{inviteLink}}


Outgoing SMS from the Dashboard

When you start an SMS text message the client is sent a welcome message. To change this, please email your customer success manager, or support@petsapp.com

Hello! Your vet {{clinicName}} has started a chat with you via PetsApp.

Reply STOP to opt out.

Incoming SMS From a Pet Owner

When a pet owner starts a new chat via SMS text message with you. To change this, please email your customer success manager, or support@petsapp.com

Hi, thanks for getting in touch with {{clinicName}}, you can download the PetsApp App here: {{downloadLink}}.
You can opt out anytime by replying STOP.

Web Widget Default Messages - Live Chat Only

If you have live chat enabled on your web widget, you can change the automated messages and text. The defaults:

This will be displayed in the popup and as the first chat message from you. You should use it to tell the visitor what they could do

Welcome to {{clinicNames}} website. Our opening hours are 9am–5:30pm.

This will be displayed in the header, below the clinic name when a customer opens the chat

We are ready to chat and respond within 20 minutes.
